Pictures from the cupcake workshop are out! =) Click here to view the whole album.

And two more pictures of an order I just finished baking. =)

My favorite teatime cake is the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. The tartness of the cream cheese contrasts well with the moist, mellow sweetness of carrots in the cake… absolutely delish!

So Sunway SHTLM has been running this charity workshop on weekends for a week now, and one of the students who found my blog asked me for help and advice on baking and decorating cupcakes. I asked if they needed a hand, since none of them have really had much prior experience in baking cupcakes. And ta-da! I was invited to help them conduct the workshop.
Wanna help contribute to charity and learn how to make uber-cute cupcakes in the process?
It’s only RM 30 for the workshop (I think the money goes to charity and donors sponsor the ingredients), plus you get goodie bags of flour and other things!
They’re having a good number of workshops so being busy won’t be an excuse! =)
Here’s a list of the workshops and some other details:
• 7th March 2009 (Session 1 – from 0830 to 1200)
- Cupcakes baking with different flavors and basic frosting.

Once in awhile I like to take a break from cupcakes, because as pretty as cupcakes may look, I still crave some good ol’ fuss-free, simple, and still scrumptious dessert. One of them is old-fashioned bread pudding. To me, nothing says comfort food better than bread pudding, fresh, warm, and mushy straight from the oven. And you can’t go more basic than bread, butter and milk.
While some people like their bread pudding very moist and soggy, others prefer it drier and something you can slice neatly. I prefer mine somewhere in between – firm enough to cut, but moist enough for the middle to dissolve in your mouth while the top is crusty.

Just for you readers and customers, here’s my favorite bread pudding recipe (you can vary the ingredients and amount of milk used to alter the flavor and/or the texture of the pudding):
Old-fashioned bread and butter pudding

Altogether, I made a total of six adorable little puppies that were adopted on Valentine’s! They took forever to make, but were oh-so worth it! =)

Jeremy ordered the above custom set of Valentine’s cupcakes all the way from the US of A for someone staying right here in PJ. =) I hope she enjoyed them as much as I did making ‘em! =)

Once again, a belated Happy Valentine’s to everyone out there and to those who ordered the cupcakes – I hope you and your sweetie enjoyed them (and spending the day together)!
